Things Your Cat is Thankful For

November 15, 2018

Thanksgiving is coming up fast! Our feline friends are pretty high on the list of things that we are grateful for. They offer us endless cuddles, purrs, and head-butts; love us unconditionally; and keep us amused with their silly antics. But if your cat could list the things she is thankful for, what would be on it? We all know that comfy beds, catnip, and tuna would make Fluffy’s list, but they aren’t the only things. In this article from Arapahoe Animal Hospital, your Boulder, CO vet, serving Louisville and surrounding areas, a local vet lists some things your furry buddy appreciates.

Boxes

We may never entirely understand Fluffy’s box obsession: we just know it’s one of her cuter quirks. Whatever the reason, we do know that a cat with a box is a happy cat!

Windows

Kitties love watching birds and squirrels. If your furry friend has a comfy spot with a good view, that may very well make her list!

Us

We know, it’s probably safe to say that Fluffy would rather take another nap than come visit us. However, even if your pet doesn’t much care for her doctor’s appointments, she will definitely look and feel better with proper veterinary care. Healthy cats are happy cats!

Warm Napping Spots

We’re not sure why cats are so tired, as they really don’t do very much. Regardless, kitties certainly do take their beauty rest seriously! Fluffy just can’t resist curling up in a warm, comfy spot.

Clean Litterboxes

If Fluffy could write you thank you notes, we’re pretty sure that clean litterboxes would be at or near the top of the list.

Toys

Have you ever found a tiny mountain of cat toys under your sofa? While Fluffy may not be very good at holding on to her playthings, she does appreciate them. Playing is both fun and beneficial for your feline friend.

You

Kitties are very emotional, and can form very close bonds with their owners. Some of our feline patients are basically furry little cuddlebugs, and want to be held or petted 24/7. Even aloof cats get attached to their humans: they just show it differently. You would definitely make your furball’s list!
