There’s a pre
tty cute new pet holiday coming up that has some of our patients very, very excited. February 3rd is Doggie Date Night! Fido is a wonderful and loving companion, and he definitely deserves a bit of extra attention. A local vet offers some tips on how to celebrate in this article Arapahoe Animal Hospital, your Boulder, CO vet clinic, serving Louisville and surrounding areas.
Grooming Session
You can’t have a proper date without a bit of prep work. Give Fido a good brushing. Or, better yet, take him to the salon for a bath. Don’t forget about your pup’s nails and teeth! You’ll get to enjoy cuddles with a fresh, clean dog.
Dinner
The classic date agenda may have changed a bit due to the pandemic, but it will always be a great go-to. This is also something you can do at home! Get something you enjoy, and pick up an entrée for Fido. Most types of cooked, plain meat, fish, or poultry will work, as long as you skip the skin, bones, and fat. Then, settle in with your canine buddy and a good flick … preferably one that includes dogs. This is a great family night activity.
Adventure Dates
Do you have an active, playful pup that loves to explore? Weather permitting, take Fido to a pretty park or trail. If you have a snow dog, like a husky, indulge your pooch with a fun romp in the snow.
Spa Date
Another thing you can do is book your canine companion an appointment with a good pet masseuse. This can help release tension, ease muscle stiffness, improve circulation, and even increase mobility and range of motion. If Fido seems stiff, he may benefit from acupuncture. Ask your vet for more information.
Photo Session
As far as we’re concerned, there’s just no such thing as too many pet pics. Get some adorable photos of Fido. Experiment with different apps and effects. Your furry friend may look great as a watercolor or pencil sketch.
Playtime
A fun play session is bound to get that cute tail going. Pick up a new toy for Fido, and indulge him with a few rounds of
Fetch
or
Tug-O-War!
